The rosary impresses with its emphasized simplicity. Light-colored round beads made of olive wood are strung together on a knotted cord. They end in a small, dark, isosceles cross. It is a Greek cross reminiscent of the early Christian era. With its four beams of equal length, this is the simplest form of cross.
