The twelve days around the turn of the year have long been known as the rough nights - and are the ideal time for an incense ceremony. According to old beliefs, the "Wild Hunt" is said to take place during these long, dark nights. To protect the house and farm from witches, demons and goblins, incense burners were carried through rooms and stables centuries ago. This incense mixture also contains frankincense, but also other local incense substances such as spruce resin, juniper and laurel.
